In 2007 I had my daughter via emergency cesarean. She was breech, and we consented to an external cephalic version at 37 weeks, basing our information on what our new Doctor told us.
Her placenta was torn, putting her into distress and me into labor. About five hours later, I was still only at 1cm, almost 2cm, and we decided it was best to have a cesarean.
She was born and cried for maybe two seconds, and they knocked me out, and my husband went with our daughter.
She was put on oxygen since her lungs were developed, and a couple days later she was transfered to the NICU. She was in the NICU for five days and we finally went home when she was a week old.
About a year after she was born, I was pointed on the path of being a midwife and doula.
I am very passionate about women and their births. I am now certifying to be a birth and postpartum doula, and I am also a homebirth midwifery assistant/apprentice and working toward being a midwife myself in a few years.
If you are interested in having me as your doula or need more information on what I provide, please visit my site.
